Plymouth Farmer's Market
Rain or Shine Thursdays through October
in the grassy field at the River Street Entrance
to Plimoth Plantation
a year round market
Who we are:
The Plymouth Farmer's Market provides access to fresh, local, seasonal produce, meats and cheeses and prepared foods that use local products and earth-based art and crafts for Plymouth residents, visitors and the Greater South Shore Community. The Plymouth Farmers Market is open each Thursday, June 7th through October 25th and monthly during the winter. The market draws attention to the agricultural diversity and food-ways of our region, sustains a vibrant local food economy, promotes local food literacy, educates the public on the seasonal availability of fruits and vegetables and helps the community to prepare healthy, locally-grown meals. The Plymouth Farmer's Market also provides a social experience that helps build community by celebrating seasonal and local foods in historic Plymouth, Massachusetts.
What we grow, bake, make & sell:
Each week local farmers bring fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs, grass fed meats, cut flowers and plants in season. Local food-makers bring cheeses, yogurt, jams, sauces, honey, take home foods (made with locally sourced ingredients), soups and savories, breads, baked goodies, and other handmade sundries such as soaps and herbals. Our earth-based artisans bring pottery, beach stone artwork and fiber.
Why you should come to the Plymouth Farmers Market at Plimoth Plantation:
Come and enjoy the fresh produce, seasonal fruit and homemade goodies, hear local music, visit the sheep and goats in the adjacent pasture and Nye Barn, visit the Plantation Shops, see friends. Support your local farmer, baker and artisan! The museum is open and offers a great discount for Plymouth residents. Explore the Wampanoag Homesite, the Colonial Village, and the Children's Explorium inside the visitors center. Plimoth Cinema shows award winning films each day at 4:30 and 7:00. So many reasons to spend the day at the Market!
We accept WIC and SENIOR Coupons!
The Plymouth Farmers’ Market is a participant in the Farmers’ Market Coupon Program. Many of the farmers are eligible to accept WIC and SENIOR coupons, and every effort will be made to help coupon holders select fresh, nutritious food. Please come to the market tent if you need any assistance or have any questions, a WIC staff member will be available on the second Thursday of every month at the market tent.
a note about parking at Plimoth Plantation:
For the safety of the many visitors we have at the market each week, as well as Plimoth Plantation guests, we ask that you drive carefully as you arrive at the market. Handicapped and Senior parking is available along the split rail fence where the field begins. There is ample (and free) parking in the main parking lot. Just follow the marked walkway leading down to the market field. We hope you will stroll around the Hornblower property before or after you gather your fresh food from your favorite farmer or baker.
